Newcastle Art Gallery is located in Newcastle's Civic precinct, adjacent to Civic Park at the corner of Laman and Darby streets. The Gallery is accessible by car or public transport.
Free 1 and 2-hour parking is available in and around Darby Street, and free 30-minute parking is available on Laman Street. Paid all day parking is available in the car park behind the Gallery in Queen Street.
Time limited parking, paid ticketing systems and compliance officers operate in the Civic Park and Cooks Hill area. Please check the street signs for parking regulations when you visit.

The nearest taxi ranks to Newcastle Art Gallery are on Darby Street (out the front of the Delany Hotel, closest cross street: Darby Street and Council Street) and at Civic Station Bus Interchange (438 Hunter Street). Large group visit or coach drop off
Laman Street is a one way street, accessible via Darby Street. Coaches are able to drop off passengers in a loading zone out front of the Gallery, however you will need to find another location to park during your visit.
Large groups are encouraged to call and inform us of their visit to ensure your visit does not clash with installation periods or scheduled events that will detract from the enjoyment of your group.
