Join a Gallery Educator on Monday 13 July, 11-11.30am or Wednesday 15 July, 11-11.30am for a free online class using materials from around the home.

In our Week Two: ABSTRACT PAINTING online class you’ll learn about Newcastle born, Adelaide based artist Tom Gleghorn and his use of abstract expressionism to create works of art, followed by a demonstration of a simple art-making activity you can do in your home by splashing, dribbling and flicking paint.

You can use a mixture of materials you might have at hand, including a large piece of paper, large paintbrushes, water pot, paint, and newspaper to cover the working area.

These programs are delivered online via Zoom. Developed for primary-aged children and designed to stimulate playful art making possibilities.

Sign up and register for an online class and the Zoom event link will be emailed to you. For the best experience, everyone’s microphones and cameras will be disabled. You can ask any questions or share comments via the chat function.

Tag and share your creations with us for your chance to be featured on our social media pages.
